It may seem counter intuitive to paint a room last, since its much less work to paint a room that is already empty. With an empty room, you dont have to worry about moving all the furniture out or covering it with tarps, but easy isnt always best. Easy can be an issue when you finally get around to buying the furniture.

You need to buy and move the furniture into the room first as a way to make sure all the colors match. This is especially true if you have several different furniture pieces.
